I always loved that expression. "Pour la Patrie" (for the fatherland) I always have wished more people would use it (daily). It just appears at that one moment that your business ( or personal) conscience tells you it's a no-brainer to do something, while your emotional consciense tells you its
1) the right thing to do
2) it has returns on investment on a general level for your country- be it sooner or later. ( more later than sooner) .
Pour la Patrie can be done as a contribution to mankind, of positivism. Picking up something that fell out of someones hand, helping an old person carrying something heavy, giving someone a compliment- with no reason. Just to get that person to smile...

Some people don't have it in their dictionary.. But its ok. Create the opposite of a " vicious circle". It starts with you... your little light will inspire others to do something nice as well. It has to be as contageous as it can be. Good things can be addictive too :) lets start doing good ...babysteps. When that one chance to do something "Pour la Patrie" comes up- to makes someones' day- no matter how unexpected: Grab it, and DO something with it.
